STORM Company has summarized the results of the past 2023 year in the main areas of its activities

DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES

STORM SIM developed the following training software and hardware: 

Simulators

  • FFLBS Free fall lifeboat simulator (full mission, on the dynamic platform) for training of personnel working on ships equipped by freefall lifeboat in accordance with STCW Code. 

  • LBS Davit-launched lifeboat simulator for drilling practical skills of candidates for a certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats. 

  • AFS SaS Advanced Fire Fighting Simulator which is a new version of Advanced Fire Fighting simulator, it’s based on 3D graphics technologies. Simulator is included into Multimedia Training Complex (MTС) for training crew members in fire prevention and fire-fighting.

  • Gas Detector Simulator (“gas tank simulator”) for testing atmosphere in ship enclosed spaces.

  • X-Ray Introscope Simulator for training of seafarers and employees of port facilities in accordance with the requirements of Chapter VI of the STCW Code (Sections VI/5, VI/6) and ISPS Code.

  • Hand-held metal detector simulator for training of seafarers and employees of port facilities in accordance with the requirements of Chapter VI of the STCW Code (Sections VI/5, VI/6) and ISPS Code.

  • Helideck VR simulator for marine personnel qualification assessment and training to conduct offshore helicopter operations on any offshore platform or vessel.
  • E-Learning Modules (ELM) Libraries

    For theoretical training of Ratings as Able Seafarer Deck and ratings forming part of a navigational watch (RFPNW):


    E-learning modules (ELM):

    • Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities for theoretical training of navigators in accordance with Chapter II of the STCW Convention in the part concerning shiphandling in heavy weather

    • Personal survival techniques for theoretical training of seafarers in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code in the part concerning personal survival techniques

    • Inert Gas Systems for theoretical training of ship officers on oil tankers while maintaining operations connected with tank atmosphere control

    • COLREGS for theoretical training of navigators in accordance with Chapter II of the STCW Convention in the part concerning of application of International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (COLREGS) with a bulk of animations and drawings, demonstration regulations.

    Multimedia Training Complexes (MTС):

    Passenger ship personnel MTC, developed in accordance with Section A-V/2 of the STCW Code and IMO Model courses, consisting of ELM and KAS Test:

    High voltage training MTC, for ship engineers developed in accordance with Chapter III of the STCW Convention in the part concerning operate and maintain power systems in excess of 1,000 volts, consisting of ELM and KAS Test:

    STORM SIM updated the following training software and hardware:

    - Basic concepts of navigation and sailing directions ELM for theoretical training of navigators at operational level in accordance with Chapter II of the STCW Convention in the part concerning of basic concepts of navigation

    - GMDSS General operator ELM for theoretical training of GMDSS radio operators in accordance with Chapter IV, IMO Radio Regulation and IMO Model Course 1.25 "GMDSS General Operator's Certificate

    - Marine environmental pollution prevention ELM for theoretical training of ratings as able seafarer deck in accordance with Chapter II of the STCW Convention in the part concerning of prevention of the marine environmental pollution.
